Scene 1
EXT – DAY – GRANDMA CELIA’S COMPOUND
CAST: Celia, Kama and Obase
Camera opens on Obase (15-16) and Grandma Celia in a ragging and angry mood

Grandma Celia: (calling out to obase) Obase…… Obase…… where is this slave?
Kama: (coming out of the house) ooooooooo…. Mama! I thought you sent obase to fetch water! Or have you forgotten?
Grandma Celia: O! That’s true. (As obase approaches with water on his head and looking tired) Ehe! Good for nothing slave. What kept you so long?
Obase (trying to explain) Mama I’m sorry. You know the stream is very far from here.
Grandma Celia: O! I understand. Let me help you down (obase draws closer to be helped but Grandma Celia takes the water from his head and empties it on his body)
Kama: Grandma! That’s not fair.
Grandma Celia: (to Kama) will you get inside now before I transfer aggression on you (Kama hurries inside the house with anger) and you! You must go back to the stream to replace this water after that make sure you fetch firewood from the farm and wash the dishes before I return from the market understood? (Drags his ear as Obase picks the bucket from the ground and pitifully walks away)

Scene 2
INT – DAY – PALACE
CAST: King Zuba, Chief Eko, Chief Zaga, Two Kinsmen Extras
Camera opens on the king and his cabinet members in the throne room area

King Zuba: Great kinsmen of Zuma kingdom, I called this meeting to let you know that our dispute between our kingdom and the kingdom of Tebe has been resolved peacefully, prior to the meeting held by all paramount rulers last weekend. (Kinsmen nod in agreement) but I must warn that our sons and daughters must not go beyond okolowi no matter what else the warriors of Tebe will do them harm or even kidnap them.
Chief Eko: My king you’ve spoken well. But I will suggest we ask the towncrier to go round and make this announcement to avoid stories that touches the heart.
Chief Zaga: Yes your highness. Chief Eko has a correct point there (all kinsmen nodes in agreement)
King Zuba: In that case I will send for the towncrier as soon as this meeting is over. That reminds me, my son the prince will be coming into town by this weekend so let’s prepare to welcome him. (scene fades as all elders nod in agreement)

Scene 3
EXT – DAY – VILLAGE PATH
CAST: Celine, Paula
Camera opens on Celine and Paula along a village path

Celine: my good friend, have you heard about the good news on ground?
Paula: Ah Celine the good news bearer, you too dey hear. What is it?
Celine: I heard the prince will be coming into town by this weekend. (Shades Paula with anxiety)
Paula: (sighs) and how is that good news?
Celine: Ah Ah! Please what other news could be gooder to a young beautiful maiden than that of the return of a charming prince (rolls her eyes)
Paula: Celine! You too dey do. You better don’t think otherwise before you’ll be disappointed.
Celine: Eh! Eh! It’s not what you’re thinking please (They both pause on hearing the voice over of the towncrier from afar) V.O (great people of Zuma, Great people of Zuma kingdom)
Paula: wait! Is that not the voice of the towncrier?
Celine: Of course it is. My friend let’s hurry so we don’t miss out (they both rush towards the town crier)

Scene 3B
EXT – DAY – VILLAGE PATH
CASTS: Towncrier, Celine, Paula

Camera opens on the towncrier, we see Paula and Celine rushing into the scene
Towncrier: Great people of Zuma kingdom. The king has asked me to warn everyone especially all farmers, no one must farm, hunt or venture beyond okolowi, if you do, you’ll be putting yourself in grave danger. Hear the words of the king (as he moves away)
Celine: Ah! This is serious o! But my father said that the dispute has been resolved according to the king.
Paula: why then is the king warning us against farming beyond okolowi?
Celine: my dear let’s keep going. We just have to be careful that’s all. (scene fades)

Scene 4
EXT – DAY – BUSHPATH
CAST: Kama, Celine
Camera opens on kama senior brother to Obase holding a cutlass walking along a bush path, Cuts to Celine walking opposite sides along same bush path, cuts back to both on a master shot

Kama: my love, where are you going to?
Celine: Kedei, I’m going to help my mom in the farm. And this one you’re carrying a cutlass, are you going to farm?
Kama: yes dear as you can see already I’m heading to the farm to fetch some firewood.
Celine: (laughs hard) hahahahahahahahahah
Kama: what’s funny?
Celine: you! Farm! Wait a minute, what happened to Obase?
Kama: It’s a long story kedei!
Celine: well, whatever it is, be carefull and please don’t go beyond okolowi. You heard the words of the king. I am not ready to mourn yet.
Kama: (holds celine by the hand) I’ll be careful my love. You run along your mom will be waiting. (as she tries to depart)
Kama: ah ah! No hug for me?
Celine: (turn back romantically) you eehn! Naughty! Naughty! (Hugs him with passion as they kissed each other in a comic way)
Kama: (Comically) sai!Akohkedei…. Huuusshhhhhh…. My body ooooooo. Obandi
Celine: what’s that? Go jhor let me run along now (scene fades as she departs)
