INT – DAY – THRONE ROOM
CAST: King Zuba, Prince Zed, Queen Sheda, 2 Guards
Camera opens on the throne room as we see prince Zed approaching king Zuba who was seated on his throne room. We see palace guard 3 and 4 standing in shot.

Prince Zed: may you live long father!
King Zuba: Son, where are you going to?
Prince Zed: father I want to take a glance round the village.
King Zuba: son! Please sit down (prince Zed seats) you have been taking a glance round the village lately. Hope you are not hiding something?
Prince Zed: (laughs heavily) father, all is well. You know I’ve been out for long so I really need to get use to some of the places forgotten. Besides I’m going with the guards.
King Zuba: alright son just be careful ok?
Queen Sheda: (cuts into picture) and come back with a maiden (as she takes her seat by the king)
Prince Zed: Mom?
King Zuba: Sheda?
Queen Sheda: What? At least someone needs to start making plans for grandchildren (the scene fades as they all laugh and the prince departs)

Scene 12B
EXT – DAY – CELINE’S COMPOUND
CAST: Prince Zed, 2 Guards, Celine, Paula, Chief Eko
Camera opens on Celine and Paula in a deep discussion as prince Zed Approaches.

Celine: (on seeing Prince Zed begins to act seductively) my prince! Wow!
Paula: Greetings my prince
Prince Zed: Greetings Paula. How are you doing today?
Paula: I’m……… (Celine Interrupts)
Celine: (immediately) she’s doing fine my prince. So tell me! What brought you to my house?
Prince Zed: won’t you at least offer me a seat?
Celine: oooo! Forgive my manners your highness. Please sit down
Prince Zed: (sits by Paula) so! Paula, (camera cuts to reveal Chief Eko, coming from a distance)
Chief Eko: (on seeing the prince and palace guards) Ah! Ah! I’m I blind or something? What could the prince of Zuma kingdom be doing in my compound? Gods of our land (he forges ahead as camera cuts to reveal all casts on a master shot) my prince!
Prince Zed: (on seeing Chief Eko) Good afternoon ObolEko
Paula: good afternoon chief
Chief Eko: Paula! How are you my dear?
Paula: I’m fine sir
Chief Eko: my prince, this one you visited my house today, hope all is well?
Celine: Yes papa. All is well (as she sits by the prince romantically resting her head on his shoulders)
Prince Zed: All is well sir (as he tries to shove Celine away)
Chief Eko: Well! If you say so Celine why didn’t you offer the prince a drink or something to eat?
Celine: I will do that papa.
Prince Zed: thank you so much sir but I’m doing fine.
Chief Eko: ok then! I’ll be inside. Celine please take good care of the prince. If you know what I mean!
Celine: sure papa. (Rolls her eyes as Chief Eko departs)
Paula: My dear friend. I’ll take my leave now so you can have some privacy with your visitor. (As she stands up to leave)
Prince Zed: (also standing up) no Paula. I actually came here because of you.
Paula: Me? How?
Prince Zed: I went to your house and I was told you will be so I had to come here.
Celine: (furious) what! Wait a minute, so you didn’t come to see me, but my prince…..
Prince Zed: (interrupts) Silence please!
Paula: Sorry my prince! I have to run along please (as she hurries away)
Prince Zed: (anxious) Paula Wait! Paula! Shit!
Celine: my prince (seductively) let her go
Prince Zed: shhhhhhhhhh (as he moves away with his guards while scene fades on Celine’s reaction).

Scene 13
EXT – DAY – CELIA’S COMPOUND
CAST: Celia, Obase, Kama
Camera opens on Obase who was seated and eating horribly as though he has not been well fed for ages, cuts to Celia in search of Obase in front of the compound.

Celia: where the hell is this good for nothing grandson of mine? Obase….. (she calls out loudly as she moved to the backyard camera cuts to reveal both in a masters shot)
Obase: (startled and scared on seeing Celia as he tries to hide the food) Grand ma:
Celia: you witch. Who is your grandma? Wait! (On seeing the food) obol eeeh! Obase! Who gave you food? So, you have started stealing my money to buy food.
Obase: no o! Grandma I’m not a theif. Brother gave me the money
Celia: shut up you pig. Now you’re lying against my son.
Obase: grandma! I’m saying the truth
Celia: Sai…. (Shouting) People of Zuma eeeeeh! Will you give me that (she snatches the food from his hands and throws it away we also see tears rolling down the eyes of Obase)
Kama: (running in from a distance) Ah Ah! Mama! Obase, what is going on here?
Obase: Brother, grandma just threw away the food I bought with the money you gave me.
Kama: What? Mama why? Why did you do it mama?
Celia: will you shut up your mouth before I shut it for you. And you! (to Obase) now go inside, get a bucket and start going to the stream before I close my eyes and open them. (Obase slowly moves inside followed by Kama. They both hurry out with buckets after a while)
Celia: (on seeing them) come! Kama, where do you think you’re going to?
Kama: mama I want to accompany Obase to the stream.
Celia: as his what? Or did he tell you that he can no longer fetch water by himself? Get back inside now before I loose it.
Kama: mama this is unfair o! This is unfair. (Runs into the house)
Celia: (to Obase) and you! What are you still doing here? Will you…… (He moves away. Scene fades as Celia hisses and hurries into the house)

Scene 14
EXT – DAY – BUSH PATH
CAST: Prince Zed, Paula, 2 guards, Kute
Camera opens on Paula carrying a bucket of water on her head, cuts to reveal Prince Zed standing by the road with his two guards, cuts to reveal Kute who on seeing the prince runs into hiding to find out what was going to happen, cuts to a master shot to reveal all characters except Kute.
Paula: (on seeing the prince) Greetings my prince. (She continues her journey)

Prince Zed: (running after her) Paula! Paula! Wait! Please. (Paula continues in fear and trembling as we see a little of Kute’s reactions) I command you to wait.
Paula: (halts as she turns to Prince Zed) my prince what is it? What do you really want from me? As you can see I am in a hurry and the water on my head is heavy as well.
Prince Zed: I can help you with the water if you want (tries to touch the bucket of water)
Paula: may the gods forbid. (She resists)
Prince Zed: Paula (romantically) ever since the very first day I saw you with Celine, I’ve not had peace of mind.
Paula: (shocked and in a loud tone) my prince! (We see Kute’s Reaction)
Prince Zed: Paula. I fell in love with you right from that very day; I can’t get my mind off you.
Paula: I’m sorry my prince. I’m not the kind of girl a prince should fall in love with.
Prince Zed: I don’t care. Just give me a chance
Paula: I have to go now my prince…. My mom will be waiting. (She hurries away)
Prince Zed: Paula! Paula! (Kute jumps out of his hiding)
Kute: Greetings my prince (clears his throat as he moves away. Scene fades on Prince Zed’s reaction)

Scene 15
EXT – DAY – PAULA’S COMPOUND
CAST: Paula, Kasi
Camera opens on Paula and Kasi her mom seating on a bench around the kitchen area preparing leaves for dinner.

Paula: Mama.
Kasi: yes my daughter. Is anything the problem?
Paula: nothing mama! Just that I think the prince is in love with me
Kasi: (surprised) Paula! What do you know about love?
Paula: Mmuka. He said it to me with his own mouth yesterday while on my way back from the stream
Kasi: my daughter, love is a beautiful thing but one has to be very careful so you don’t get consumed by love.
Paula: exactly mama: I’m scared. I’ve never been this scared in my life you needed to see how my heart was beating very fast when he held my hand.

CAST: Kute, Celine
Camera opens on Celine seated on a bench in front of her father’s compound and eating some fruits while singing to a song.

Kute: (moves into shot) Cell Cell! Celli Celli!
Celine: eh eh! Kute please! If you came to make your silly advances towards me, I’m not in the mood. As you can see I’m busy with my fruits.
Kute: ah ah! Celine! Why are you doing this to me na? Look I can give you better love than Kama o!
Celine: please leave Kama out of this (stands up romantically as she spins round) I Celine, I am preparing myself for the prince who is obsessed about me.
Kute: (laughs heavily) did you say the prince? The same prince I saw professing love to Paula your friend two days ago at eluma farm road.
Celine: what? Kute. I’m not ready for your silly jokes please.
Kute: how can I joke with the prince of this kingdom? That’s more like sacrilege.
Celine: how could (angrily) Paula…….. Its ok. (Hurries away in anger)
Kute: Celine come back. My love….. Ah Ah! Did I offend her? (scene fades)

Scene 17
EXT – DAY – PALACE
CAST: Queen Sheda, Prince Zed, 2 guards, 2 maids
Camera opens on Prince Zed, seated alone and lost in thoughts while smiling profusely, cuts to reveal Queen Sheda

Queen Sheda: Zed… (No response, she taps him by the shoulder) Son!
Prince Zed: (startled) Ah! Mom
Queen Sheda: Leave us at once (to the guards and maids as they depart) my son! This one you are lost in thoughts and at the same time smiling, is there anything you want to tell me?
Prince Zed: nothing mom. Just that it feels good to be home after a long while.
Queen Sheda: my son, home is home and one must always return home no matter what. So tell me, when are you going to surprise your mom?
Prince Zed: surprise? I don’t understand mom.
Queen Sheda: come on Zed. When are you going to bring a maiden to the palace?
Prince Zed: Mom!
Queen Sheba: what? Did I say anything wrong?
Prince Zed: no mom. But don’t worry, soon and very soon

EXT – DAY – PAULA’S HOUSE
CAST: Paula, Kasi, Celine
Camera opens on Paula sweeping the compound, cuts to reveal Celine walking in, in a very furious manner.

Paula: Celine my good friend.
Celine: please hold your greetings and point of correction; I am not your good friend.
Paula: Ah! Celine are we quarrelling? Did I offend you?
Celine: yes we are quarrelling. How dare you? How dare you go near my man?
Paula: may the gods forbid. You know me, I can’t go near Kama. In fact he’s the last person I can ever think of doing anything with knowing too well that both of you will soon get married.
Celine: please! Please!! Please!!! Stop pretending. Who’s talking about Kama here?
Paula: Celine? Don’t tell me…….

Scene 19
EXT – DAY – BUSH PATH
CAST: Maiden 1, Maiden 2, Obase
Camera opens on Obase with a heavy bundle of firewood on his head, returning from farm, cuts to two maidens moving towards opposite direction and to a master shot of all characters as they passed by each other, cuts back to maidens.

Maiden 1: sai! I feel pity for this poor child. He’s worse than a slave
Maiden 2: my dear. His witch of a grandmother has practically turned the poor boy into a house help.
Maiden 1: people are wicked. Look at him; I’m not even sure he feeds well
Maiden 2: I can’t wait for the day that nemesis will catch up with that woman and she will ever live to regret it.
Maiden 1: my dear let’s go. The gods will fight his battle. (Scene fades)

Scene 20
EXT – DAY – CELIA’S COMPOUND
CAST: Kute, Kama, Obase
Camera opens on Kama and Obase playing together, cuts to Kute approaching the compound.

Kama: kute! What do you want here? Haven’t I warned you never to come near me again?
Kute: Kama! Calm down. Please don’t be too serious.
Kama: now leave my house and stay away from me and my Celine.
Kute: (laughs heavily) Look my dear old friend, we are both swimming on an empty ocean. Open your eyes
Kama: And what do you mean by that?
Kute: what I mean is, we both are here dying for someone who doesn’t even care about us.
Kama: says who? Celine loves me so much. It is you who is lost in illusion and let me tell you, you will never have her.
Kute: did you just say she loves you so much? Ok! How come she rejected your proposal? (kama puts on a shocking reaction) Yes my brother. We know about it. It is not a secret
Kama: look! She didn’t reject my proposal. She only asked for more time.
Kute: more time my foot. See my brother, let me tell you. You will stay here and before you know it, the prince will marry your beloved Celine before your very eyes. (Laughs heavily)
Kama: Kute (furiously) now leave my house. Leave at once. (Scene fades as kute departs and we see expressions on Obase and Kama).
