EXT – DAY – CELIA’S COMPOUND
CAST: Celia, Obase, Cefa
Camera opens on Celia and Cefa eating a local meal (ijakpo) while having a discussion

Cefa: my good friend this your meal is tantalizing
Celine: you know I’m a very good cook. I learnt it from my mother. They taught us well naw!
Cefa: you can say that again.
Obase: (walks in with a log of wood) Good afternoon ma! Good afternoon grandma
Cefa: good afternoon my dear. Welcome o!
Celia: hey! Come here (rudely) so you left this house since morning only to return with this little log on your head?
Cefa: (shocked) Celia!
Celia: o! Please Cefa.
Obase: I’m sorry mama. You know today is market day and no one goes to farm so there was nobody to help. I had to carry what I could lift.
Celia: (empties a cup of water on Obase) you coward! Will you get out of my sight? And make sure you return back to that farm for more firewood else no food for you today.
Cefa: my friend. Don’t you think you are been too hard on this poor child? Please take it easy on him
Celia: Cefa please if you’re not enjoying your meal any longer you can leave my house.
Cefa: what! Celia are you…….
Celia: yes! You have over stayed your welcome.
Cefa: I will go. But just put it at the back of your mind that a man shall reap whatsoever he sows (she departs)
Celia: yes oooooooo! Thank the gods I am a woman not a man. Where is this boy? (hurries after Obase). You witch where are you?

Scene 22
INT – DAY – PALACE
CAST: King Zuba, Chief Eko, Chief Zaga, Two Kinsmen Extras
Camera opens on king Zuba and all kinsmen seated in the throne room.

Chief Eko: your highness, we all know that Leboku festival is fast approaching as preparations are ongoing and you have not said anything concerning the prince taking a wife since his return. (kinsmen nodes hysterically)
Chief Zaga: yes, your highness we are still to hear of you
King zuba: well concerning this issue, I have spoken to the prince and he has assured me that he will definitely do as customs demands before the commencement of the festival.
Kinsman 1: if you say so my king. We were just worried about it.
King Zuba: there is nothing to worry about my kinsmen (scene fades as they all mutter words)

EXT – DAY – STREAM
CASTS: Celine, Paula, Obla, Litah,
Camera opens on Celine, Obla and Litah while fetching water from the stream as they engaged in a discussion.

Celine: (singing Happily)
Litah: celine this one you are so happy today, hope all is well o! or…….
Obla: Litah! So someone cannot just be happy on a normal day?
Celine: my dear friend litah you are right. I’m so happy because very soon I’ll be clothed in royalty when I am finally introduced to the king as the prince’s fiancée
Litah: ah! Really? But I hear the prince is already in love with Paula
Celine: o! please shut it. Paula is just the one forcing herself on the prince
Paula: (walks in with her container) Hello girls, hello Celine

EXT – DAY – PAULA’S HOUSE
CASTS: Paula, Prince Zed, Two palace guards
Camera opens on Paula and prince Zed practically bonding on a bench as prince Zed whispers into Paula’s ears.

Prince zed signals one of the guards who rushed to the back seat of the car to bring out a parcel and hands it over to the prince.
Prince Zed: (hands the parcel to Paula) Here.
Paula: My prince, not again. Do you want to spoil me with all these gifts? Eh
Prince Zed: Shhhhhhhhh: it’s nothing my love. Thank you so much for loving me despite my short comings.
Paula: I should be the one thanking you my prince for choosing a low class maiden like me despite all the beautiful maidens in this community and even in the city.
Prince Zed: you know I can’t imagine a world without you Paula. You light up my world and I can’t wait to spend forever with you.
Paula: I love you too my price. No one will ever take your place in my heart

EXT – DAY – CELINE’S COMPOUND
CASTS: Kama, Celine, Obal
Camera opens on Celine and her mom Obal seated around the compound picking Ijakpo leaves and lost in discussion about the prince.

Celine: Mama don’t worry; we won’t be doing all this very soon when we finally get to the palace
Obal: Celine my daughter, I really think you should take things easy o! so you don’t get hurt.
Celine: mama na! what’s the meaning of that na? even you too? I’m not going to take things easy o!
Kama: (walks in) Good afternoon mama. (Celine gives a horrible look)
Obal: My son, how are you? Your welcome
Kama: fine, thank you mama. I came to see Celine.
Obal: O! in that case I should let the both of you have time alone. I will be inside. (she carries the leaves along with her)
Celine: mama I’ll join you soon
Kama: (tries to touch Celine) my love……
Celine: (very furious) Don’t touch me please. What are you doing here?
Kama: Seriously; Celine are you asking me that? Anyways I came to ask if what I’m hearing is true.
Celine: and what is that?
Kama: that you are forcing yourself on the prince
Celine: (laughs heavily) Me? Force myself on the prince? Why would Celine do that?
Kama: I said it. I know my love can’t do such
Celine: Now listen. Whatever we had between us kama can no longer continue
Kama: Is this a joke or what? My love did I offend you in anyway? Please tell me I will apologize but don’t do this to us

EXT – DAY – VILLAGE PATH
CASTS: Obase, Kadau, Yibala
Camera opens on Kadau and nbala holding empty water containers walking on a path to the stream cuts to reveal Obase who was very tired with a water container filled with water on his head. Cuts to a master shot of all casts as Obase passes by them.

Kadau: Yibala I really pity this boy. The way that witch of his grandmother treats him is very disheartening.
Yibala: my dear I feel so sorry for him. I wonder why the king wouldn’t do anything about this
Kadau: what do you expect him to do? This is a family issue and until someone reports nothing can be done
Yibala: I seriously pity the poor child and he’s so hard working.
Kadau: my dear let’s get going. It’s well with him

Scene 26B
EXT – DAY – CELIA’S COMPOUND
CASTS: Celia, Obase
Camera opens on Celia picking beans while seated on a bench Obase walks into shot and passes by Celia to drop the water on his head at the backyard while Celia gives a horrible look.

Celia: (calling out to Obase) Obase! Obase!! Obase!!!
Obase: (running out to Celia) Mama!
Celia: you good for nothing pig. What are you still doing back there? Now go inside, take a cutlass and be on your way to Okolowi. Harvest some yams and come back before nightfall.
Obase: But grandma the king has warned that no one should go to okolowi
Celia: (drags Obase by the ear) now listen to me carefully. First, I am not your grandma, and secondly if you must eat and continue to stay in this house, you must do as I say. Now get out of here and be on your way (pushes him to the ground) you will always remain a pig
Scene fades as Obase goes inside to carry a cutlass and a piece of wrapper.

MONTAGE
Camera reveals Obase on different shots crying and walking on different bush paths with an emotional theme song playing. Cuts to Prince Zed and Paula on a romantic tour.

Scene 27
EXT – DAY – CELIA’S COMPOUND
CASTS: Kama, Celia
Camera opens on Celia’s lost in thoughts while pacing around the compound as Kama walks into shot

Kama: mama good afternoon (no reply from Celia) mama! (shouts)
Celia: (startled) Ah Kama my son…. Welcome.
Kama: mama you look worried. Anything the matter?
Celia: Kama Obase is not back yet. I’m really worried.
Kama: Mama! You worried about Obase? Since when? Anyways, don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll be home before nightfall.
Celia: I hope so too. Cos I’m not at peace now.
Kama: mama it’s ok! Now let’s go inside….
Scene fades as they both enter into the house

Scene 27B (same day)
EXT – NIGHT – CELIA’S COMPOUND
CASTS: Celia, Kama
Camera opens on Celia now in a worried some manner still pacing around the compound then runs to meet Kama on seeing him from afar.

Celia: (Crying and running to Kama) Kama! There’s trouble oooo! I can’t hold this any longer
Kama: Mama don’t tell me that Obase has not returned
Celia: He has not oooo! I’m finished
Kama: AH! AH! Finished? You should be very happy. Isn’t this what you have always wanted? Now perhaps the poor boy has run away due to your wickedness. Mama you should be happy
Celia: It would have been better if he ran away…. O! my God. What have I done?
Kama: Wait a minute! Mama? How do you mean? What did you do?

EXT – DAY – BUSH PATH
CASTS: Kama, Kute
Camera opens on Kama lying on a log of wood as Kute walks into shot with a cutlass on his hands cuts to reveal singana a hunter who was hiding by the bush to listen to their conversation.

Kute: (taps Kama) Kama! Kama!
Kama: Ah! Kute: it’s morning already?
Kute: No! its nightfall! So you left your house to sleep in the bush because of a mere woman who broke your heart? Ah ah guy na….. See! I’ve told……
Kama: Hey! That’s enough! I’ve told you to stay off my path. Just let me be
Kute: Kama…… what did I ever do to you? I only told you the truth which was bitter. Do you want the soap to enter your eyes before you realize that it hurts?
Kama: look! I’m not here because of Celine or whatever you’re thinking….. I’m looking for my nephew Obase
Kute: ah! Ah! Obase? Why would Obase sleep in the bush? Is he now a hunter? Abi him join Okondel?
Kama: (speaks lokaa) my mother sent him to okolowi yesterday and he hasn’t returned since then so please if you don’t mind let me continue my journey I don’t have time for this. (he tries to move away)
Kute: wait! Sai! Sorry o! but your mother is a witch. In fact, she should be called Celia wickedness heartless Eno. Ah AH
Kama: Look Kute I won’t have you insult my mother
Kute: Kama I know that you don’t like me. But let me help you let’s look for Obase together.
Kama: Kute thanks for the offer but I don’t need your help

Scene fades as they both depart into the bush while the hunter hurriedly departs to report matter to king Zuba in the village…….

MONTAGE
Camera opens on Cefa consoling Celia who was bitterly crying, cuts to the palace with king Zuba seated with his kinsmen including prince and queen, cuts to the hunter running home and shouting abomination, cuts to Kama and kute in search of Obase, cuts back to palace.

Scene 30
EXT – DAY – PALACE
CASTS: King Zuba, Chief Eko, chief Zaga, two kinsmen extras, singana
Back to palace. Camera opens on the throne room with king discussing with kinsmen.

King Zuba: my kinsmen. I’m very happy and proud to let you know that Government has approved that a polytechnic should be built in our community. All thanks to Dr. Okoi Obongha Obla
Chief Eko: your highness, this is indeed great news and we thank God almighty. But my king, do we have a site for them?
Chief Zaga: exact question I wanted asking. Where are they going to start up from?
King Zuba: well! I have approved that Community Secondary school should be used as a temporary site for now
Singana: (hurries into shot) My king! My King!! May you live long my King
Chief Eko: come! Singana this one you are like this, what is chasing you?
King Zuba: Singana the great hunter. Speak! What brought you here at this hour?
Singana: My king, it’s Celia!
Chief Zaga: Celia? The old widow who lives at Ibenda 2?

Singana: your highness I was returning from my hunt this morning when I ran into her son Kama and Kute discussing about how celia sent her grandson Obase to harvest yams from Okolowi (all kins men in shock and one voice echo OKOLOWI?) Yes my chiefs. Okolowi

(SAME DAY) – THRONE ROOM
CASTS: King Zuba, Chief Eko, chief Zaga, Celia, two kinsmen extras, singana
Camera opens back in the palace as Celia kneels before the king and kinsmen in regrets of her actions.

King Zuba: Woman! You’ve heard the accusation labeled against you. Is it true?
Celia: (crying) yes your highness it’s true. I didn’t know what came over me please forgive me my king
King Zuba: You are Evil and deserve no mercy. How could you be so wicked to your grandson. Now I give you till Epla yor ubi ujong to look for and bring that child back to this kingdom either dead or alive. Else you will be banished from this community. I have spoken.
